Comprehensive 4-Week, Full-Time Git Training Bootcamp Terminal-focused, hands-on intensive program designed to take graduates from Git basics to professional team collaboration in 160 hours.


Program Overview

Format: Full-time immersive training
Duration: 4 weeks (160 hours total)
Schedule: 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM)
Level: Entry-level to Professional
Mode: Terminal-based with team collaboration


Four-Week Curriculum

Weeks 1–2: Fundamentals and Branching (80 hours)

Focus: Git foundations, local workflows, remote collaboration, branching, and conflict resolution

  • Day 1: Setup and Local Workflows (8 hrs)
  • Day 2: Remote Collaboration (8 hrs)
  • Day 3: Branching Fundamentals (8 hrs)
  • Day 4: Merge Conflicts and Resolution (8 hrs)
  • Day 5: Project and Assessment (8 hrs)

Weeks 1–2 Capstone: Task Management Application with proper Git workflow

Weeks 3–4: IDE Workflows and Team Collaboration (80 hours)

Focus: Git with VSCode, pull requests (most important!), code review, team workflows, and real-world scenarios

  • Day 6: Git with VSCode and Stash (8 hrs)
  • Day 7: Git Rebase and Advanced Workflows (8 hrs)
  • Day 8: Pull Requests and Code Review (8 hrs)
  • Day 9: Team Collaboration and Real Scenarios (8 hrs)
  • Day 10: Capstone Project and Final Assessment (8 hrs)

Weeks 3–4 Capstone: Full-Stack Note-Taking App with professional Git workflow

Follow team workflow patterns (GitHub Flow, Feature Branch)
Handle common real-world scenarios
Collaborate effectively in development teams

Note: Advanced topics (interactive rebase, cherry-pick, reflog) are introduced as optional learning - master the essentials first!


Prerequisites

  • Basic terminal/command line knowledge
  • Computer with terminal access (macOS/Linux preferred)
  • Git installed: git-scm.com/downloads
  • GitHub account (free tier)
  • Text editor familiarity (vi/vim taught in course)
  • Commitment to 80 hours of intensive learning

Assessment & Grading

Week 1 Assessment (50%)

  • Daily labs and exercises: 15%
  • Written assessment: 15%
  • Practical skills test: 10%
  • Week 1 capstone project: 10%

Week 2 Assessment (50%)

  • Daily labs and exercises: 10%
  • Team collaboration project: 10%
  • Written final assessment: 10%
  • Final capstone project: 20%

Passing Score: 75% overall
Distinction: 90%+ overall with excellent capstone projects
